How I Grew My Website Traffic by 300% Using Content Marketing

When I first launched my website, there was very little traffic, and I feared it would be slow to grow. I started, however, executing a focused content marketing strategy, and the results have been unbelievable.

I started with identifying my target audience and the topics they were really interested in. I researched what my target audience was searching for using keyword tools, and identified high traffic low competition keywords that I could create content around. I then took the highest-priority keywords and created a content calendar. Every blog post I created, I optimized the content for SEO with click-worthy headlines, relevant meta-description information, and internal linking to other relevant posts.

I also sought different content formats with the audience in mind. I mixed infographics with blogs, and with short video posts to consume content in a way that keeps readers engaged. Whenever I publish new content, I share it on all forms of Social Media as well as many niche online communities for reader engagement – I also then took repurposed these posts into shorter bites for each platform.

More importantly, I focused on producing value-based content that answered questions being asked, solved problems, and provided precise tips by limiting myself to only positive, actionable, content in every blog post. Over the course of time, my website became a trusted resource in my niche.

In just 6 months, it started to pay off. Website traffic increased by 300%, and engagement increased rapidly as the average time on the site and average return visits increased.

Content marketing is not a quick-wins game. It is about consistently executing effectively and producing content that builds trust and authority, over time. Content marketing is a long game. When done properly, content marketing can transform authority in your space.
